Sox sink Mets 6-3

The game started off well for pitcher Jonathan Niese, who sat eight straight batters.  Then things began to get away from him as he sputtered out.  By the time he was replaced 52 pitches later by Tyler Pill, he had bases loaded for the young prospect Pill.

“The arm felt great,” Niese said. “I kind of ran out of gas there at the end and lost command, but it was good to get that 50 pitches, get the workload in. I haven’t thrown that many pitches in a while, so it’s building up. I’m feeling better and better each outing.”

The Mets face the Cardinals this Wednesday.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so get out and support your New York Mets!
